You are Earth, I am Everyone

You are Earth, I am Everyone is a short, abstract planetarium film about how humans interact with earth through a series of eight time lapses. It’s purpose is to bring awareness to these positive and negative interactions, such as populating, the creation of art and pollution. Using the planetarium as a viewing medium, lets the audience feel more like a participant than a witness by letting them experience these interactions from the point of view of our planet.
The production process was very experimental for this project. The art objects included in the time lapse were chosen for the variation of their texture and colors. To make sure the camera wasn’t damaged during the filming, a clear fish bowl was placed over the camera. Therefore, Taylor was free to cover the fish bowl with as much paint and other artistic materials as she wanted, which is what gives the audience the illusion of being submerged.
