Down Tempo
Down Tempo started off as a photography project with the intention of playing with camera angles and mechanics to create a different perspective on the local Boulder art exhibit “wonder wonder”. The exhibit is known for attracting instagram influencers due to its exciting artistic backgrounds. The goal was to focus on the art alone without the usual addition of human subjects.
By focusing on quick shutter speeds and variations of aperture sizes, Taylor was able to create a plethora of aesthetically interesting images. The abstraction of each piece captured in the photograph comes more so from playing with the reflective light surrounding it, then the artwork itself. During post production, she chose to emphasize the energy of the light by using subtle animation that I timed to down tempo music.
