epi
EPI is an archival footage project that follows a man’s dream state who goes into anaphylactic shock after intentionally trying a Reece’s peanut butter out of curiosity. The concept came to Taylor through her own personal temptation she has experienced with her own allergies. The piece is a statement on how far people will go to satisfy their urges despite the price.
The epi pen used in the film is a trainer, being the same shape of a real epi pen, but just needle-less. The rest of the footage was shot with only three long takes that were then chopped up and arranged to create a “procedural” feeling. The archival footage was taken from a multitude of sources and the sound used for the beginning footage was created on set and recorded with a microphone
