Your Food Is Here is a documentary following a delivery driver who wears a cheeseburger costume on his route in hopes of getting more tips. The vision for this project was to keep it light hearted, while emphasizing the quirks and interesting characteristics of the subject to the audience. The documentary’s purpose is solely comedic and meant to show an off kilter experience of what it is like to be a delivery driver in Boulder, Colorado (with a twist).
The production required two nights of following around the subject from restaurant to restaurant. Eli is an incredibly interesting character on his own. So it was not difficult prompting him to express his eccentricity for the camera. The real process was picking through the ten hours of footage to find the gems. The result was an awkward, but amusing performance that delivers a steady stream of uncomfortable gut laughs.
