Self Portrait

In this project, Taylor’s vision was to show the intoxication of being an over analyzer. A blessing and a curse, she has always felt that the multitude of her own thoughts were a weight that was no different than her own bone density. In a poem that inspired the project she wrote, ” My thoughts are my skin and they manage to fit into every empty crevice of my vessel”. This symbolic photography collection is a visual of her own identity.

The grueling act of glueing over a hundred googly eyes to one’s face is an incredibly tedious and exhausting process. The photographs themselves were taken with a self timer and a tripod. Using hue lights to create different tones in the room, she played with different themes of anxiety, curiosity, and the complete submersion into one’s own thoughts.
